BCScTA Listserve Policies and Procedures
Please respect other subscribers of the listserve. Please feel free to express yourself, but do not do anything to injure or harm other individuals, organizations, or corporations. Subscribers are expected to exercise both common sense and courtesy in the messages they transmit over the listserve.
In particular, subscribers should not use the BCScTA listserves for:
- Posting any defamatory, abusive, racist, profane, threatening, offensive or illegal material.
- Posting any materials protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner.
- For solicitation or advertising including any based on political parties or affiliations.
- Jokes and/or entertainment-type messages.
If you have a differing opinion, please express yourself in a professional manner. Please maintain a civil tone on the listserve at all times.
If inappropriate postings or violations of the listserve are noticed, subscribers should not inform the entire group, but should bring this information to the attention of the listserve administrator.
Abuse of the listserve will lead to withdrawal of posting rights and / or removal from the group.
Rules For Posting Professional Development / Educational Opportunities
BCScTA E-Mail lists are not to be used for commercial advertising purposes. However, notices of professional development and/or in-service opportunities of benefit to teachers or educational opportunities for students may be posted at the discretion of the BCScTA Executive.
To make a posting of this type, the text should be emailed using the Contact link above. If the BCScTA Executive decides that the posting meets the criterion, it will be posted, for you, by the BCScTA.
The text must be brief and meet the following criteria:
- That the activity not conflict with BCScTA initiatives
- The intent of the posting is educational and not for profit
- The message furthers science and science education in British Columbia
Abuse of this policy will lead to withdrawal of posting rights and / or removal from the group.
